You cant have a rainbow without a little rain

"When Allah desires good for someone, He tries him with hardships."
[Sahîh al-Bukhârî]

Every one of us is being tested by Allah. He tests us all in different ways. Allah never let us bear what is impossible, He makes sure what we bear is the limit that we can take without much difficulty.

If someone encounters a difficulty, or something that is hard to deal with, that means that Allah has also given them the strength to overcome the matter and succeed in the test. If you believe that Allah always be there for you, you will see no situation is too hopeless. No sadness is ever permanent. So the key is, develop our relationship with Allah when we are in trouble and try to maintain this closeness.

If we are far from Allah (swt), the test is usually to bring us close to Him. Whatever heedlessness we are engaging in, the test should make us realize we have no one, no one at all, but Him.

There is a purpose behind every trials. And like a rainbow after the rain, there’s always a good thing after the pain.

Do not make assumptions

We are pretty much always making assumptions. We assume that we know how someone is going to react to us. We assume that we know what in their mind. Not only we believe our assumptions, but then we end up taking those assumptions personally and even end up resenting the person.

One of the reasons we make so many assumptions is because we are fearful of asking questions. Once you think you need a clear answer of it, it's a really a good idea to go ahead and ask them. In my experience, obviously by doing so you are going to be able to avoid a lot of stress and drama. So, find the courage to ask questions.

"Making assumptions simply means believing things are a certain way with little or no evidence that shows you are correct, and you can see at once how this can lead to terrible trouble"
Lemony Snicket, The Austere Academy

Good things come to those who wait

Sekuat mana kita setia.
Sehebat mana kita merancang.
Selama mana kita menunggu.
Sekeras mana kita bersabar.

Sejujur mana kita menerima dirinya.

It doesn't matter if you get rejected by someone. You never know what's the good behind it.

Allah says in the Qur'an:

"It may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know." (2: 216)

Do not lose hope, put your full trust in Allah. Now, imagine your relationship with Allah Subhana Wa ta'ala. Allah loves us more than everyone could ever love. So if you ask Him for something, don't lose hope, know He will give you the best! Always Expect the best from Allah Subhana Wa ta'ala.

Leave your affairs to Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala. What is meant to happen will happen InshaAllah and you will get rewarded for your patience.

Hijab

In the hijab, honestly, I feel blessed\

Wearing a hijab is a way of treating oneself as somebody who is precious and special, like a treasure that is kept hidden until it is uncovered. In this way, Muslim women gain more self-confidence and self-respect knowing who they are in the society.

Generally, hijab is worn by Muslim women in front of men who are not a direct relative in order to protect themselves from indecent thoughts and acts. This is advantageous because in this way men will get to like a Muslim woman not because of her looks or physical attributes, but because of other important qualities like attitude, personality, ideals, skills, or knowledge.

#She's saving herself for someone special. She is learning. She is struggling. She is growing. She is shifting her priorities in life

Who needs love when you've got chocolate?

I bought "The Chocolate Run" by Dorothy Koomson spontaneously when I saw a good offer of it at book fair that was held at pusanika. I expected a hilarious story about a woman who loves chocolate and it is exactly what I get from this book.

Amber was from the first pages one a character I enjoyed reading about. I liked the way she handled her life and that throughout the book she was willing to change in the areas of her life that made her unhappy. At the end of the story she was a strong woman who had learned to tell others what she wants without feeling bad about it.

I enjoyed that in the relationship between Greg and her, she was the one who remained sceptical. It felt right that she didn't fell in love with him after their first night and it took some time for her feelings to change from friendship to love. I was suprised by how much I enjoyed reading about Greg, at first I thought that he was nothing than a shallow womaniser but I soon realized that he was a good guy. I enjoyed that they had some up and downs in their relationship and how they dealt with them.

One of my highlights of the book was how Amber compared the people in her life to different types of chocolate. It was so utterly funny and imaginative. She did it in a very charming way and her comparisons were always very fitting.

The relationship between Amber and Jen was very interesting and I loved the way Amber thought about it at the end. I never really liked Jen but I can still understand why Amber wanted to give her a second chance. I also enjoyed reading about the relationship between Amber and her family and how she learned to handle what happened between her parents when she was a child.

This story was an ejoyable to read.

put your trust in Allah

"When Allah knows we’re ready for the responsibility and commitment, He’ll reveal the right person under the right circumstances. Wait patiently. And do what we need to do, pray to Allah. Grow and be ready, you’ll see Allah will give you a love story far better than you could ever dream of."

Ya Muhaimin jika aku jatuh hati,
izinkanlah aku menyentuh hati
seseorang yang hatinya tertaut
padaMu agar tidak terjatuh aku
dalam jurang cinta nafsu. . .

Ya Rabbana jika aku jatuh hati,
jagalah hatiku padanya agar
tidak berpaling daripada hatiMu..

Why Amos Famous?

I’m extremely fond of snacking in the class and I must say, famous amos chocolate chip with macadamia nuts just about hit the spot every time.

I am intensely addicted to the crispy texture and smells of Famous Amos Cookies.

Marriage

Marriage is Sunnah and also half our deen. It's a new door that leads to happiness as it unites two people and creates new familial bonds.

Today we are living in a time where it is very difficult to get married in early age. Culture seems to play a bigger role in marriage than the religion itself which causes much distress among families especially youngsters.

who doesnt love both?

I remember the first time I tried Nutella. I was in matriculation. After the first bite, I had to exhibit some serious restraint not to eat the whole thing myself. Since then, I always have a jar on hand.

Chocolate and hazelnut is a winning combination anyway

And I just discovered this nutella brownies recipe. Well, it is a must -try-recipe as I'm a big fan of nutella and a fan of brownies. I dont think I will be able to control myself from not eating Nutella while making these brownies.  #tehee

love you

Dear Mom and Dad,
I want you to know what a big difference you have truly made in my life. You taught me so many things about the world and myself that years have not been able to make me forget.

I may have misunderstood you and your intentions when I was much younger. But now I know that everything you did was for my own good.

I would like you to know that I appreciate everything you’ve done for me. For cradling me, smiling at me, being proud of me, laughing with me, and loving me.

Thank you Mom and Dad.

we are beautiful

Naturally a human being always demands for more, we always want what others want. For instance, every girl in particular wishes...”I wish I was fairer”....I wish I was prettier”…
The word "I WISH" some times becomes a reason of not being thankful.

Certainly We created man in the best make. (95:4)”

If Allah is saying it in the Quran that we are being created in our best forms then it must be true. Allah is the creator, He knows more what we should be.

Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it. As we all have different taste buds, we all have different beauty buds, as well.

Outer beauty will fade with time. What we should be concerned about is we should try to beautify our akhlaq and souls. This is what we will take with us at the end of this brief journey. This life is like the example of a traveller who sits under a tree for a brief moment and then has to continue with his journey.

Be thankful for who you are,
be thankful for what you have as Allah SWT has given you what is best for you.

The Vow

I vow to fiercely love you and all your forms now and forever. I promise never to forget this is a once in a lifetime love and no matter what challenges might carry us apart we'll always find a way back to each other.

Leo, a young man whose blissfully happy marriage is rear-ended by a snowplow -- propelling wife Paige (McAdams) through the windscreen and into a brain trauma unit. When she wakes up, she's okay -- except that she's wiped out the last five years entirely. She doesn't know Leo.

Here's a guy who loves his wife, but who finds himself alone in the marriage because everything they shared as a couple has been erased. Trying to rekindle the sparks that initially led his wife to fall in love with him in the first place, Leo works hard to reignite the flames and keep his vows.

Their idea of love and marriage relies largely on emotions, circumstances and "moments of impact," valuing the ever-changing feelings over promises, fate rather than faith and commitment.

red velvet cake

I love red velvet cake/cupcakes. There’s something uniquely interesting about the colour, texture and taste of these things that make me deeply desirable. I can't really describe the taste of it, there is something so deliciously perfect about the combination of red velvet cake and cream cheese icing.  This red velvet cake/cupcakes need to have a cream cheese frosting to provide the flavour contrast or it doesn’t work.

The cake are essentially a chocolate cake but coloured red.

It's not often that we find red velvet cakes in the supermarket or bakeries here. Will try making this cake real soon. I'm still finding the perfect red velvet cake recipe and TIME!

And I just love the idea how this red velvet cupcakes and cream cheese frosting are layered inside of a jar. Its cute and a perfect doorgift. <3

First Impressions

Passing a judgement on somebody within a few seconds of meeting them - everything from their character to their "social status" to their rough annual wage - is something we all subconsciously do, and judging a book by it's cover has become the order of the day.

But don't ever let your initial opinion of somebody cloud your judgement, give them a chance, you might be surprised.

Two weeks for me to fall for you

"No matter where you are in the world, the moon is never bigger than your thumb."
-John Tyree

The story is about two young people who meet during spring break, only to fall in love with each other before being separated by war. They make a promise to write letters to each other as a diary of their lives apart. They meet each other's friends, neighbors, and family, spend quality time together and Savannah make John a better person, engaging in charity work.

I know true love can occasionally occur within a short period of time, but Dear John seems way too romantic of an idea for the the seriousness that follows.

There are many great analogies touched on in the movie's opening sequence that carry through the entire of the novel, but the references to coins are the biggest symbolic tools in Dear John. I enjoy how the use of coin symbolism; as a father/son bond, people and how they can be damaged mentally and physically.

Before John and Savannah have to leave each other, the two make, a promise to tell each other everything, write it all down, don't leave anything out. This promise is a means to continue their relationship and vicariously, be a part of each other's lives while they're separated. One memory they share about watching the moon keeps them close no matter where they are in the world.

I really enjoy the cinematography of how the love letters are delivered. From excited, to nervous I felt what John felt when he was waiting for letters to arrive.

Though the beginning half of the novel is a great portrayal of how amazing new love can be, there are many moments in the latter half of the movie that really bring conflict and sadness, as life will bring in any couple. The message I got from this movie is that real love doesn't die.

Time is a great healer but Allah is the Greatest Healer

The deeper the wound, the longer it takes to heal
What doesn’t kill us, always makes us stronger, we just have to continue on in our journeys and know that nothing happens without a reason and for some greater wisdom which we may or may never understand.

Hearts that have been shattered but rebuilt with Allah will always be stronger inshaAllah. The love and mercy Allah provides for His servants, no one else can; the trust and dignity Allah provides, no one else can; the hope and courage Allah gives, no one else can.

People will always let us down, make promises they cannot keep, utter words which they do not mean but Allah is Al-Wadud, the All Loving, His love is pure and He never breaks His promises.  There really is no greater comfort in life other than knowing Allah is aware of how we feel. He is the All-Aware, the Provider, the Healer, the Caretaker of us all.

Dont Look Down

Never look down on anyone because of their present situation. Sometimes the people you look down on today will be the ones you look up to tomorrow. When things are fine with you, don't treat others like they are insignificant. A person who is down today can climb up triumphantly over adversities tomorrow.

No one can predict the future. Only God knows what tomorrow holds. Therefore treat everyone with the most kindness, respect, and love.

And never to despise even the worst of people, nor speak ill of them. You may despise the sins a man is committing, but not the person, because we do not know what is going to be his final fate and this is known only to Almighty Allah. It is quite possible that Allah may guide him and put him on the path of righteousness before his death, by means of repentance and giving up his sins.

best time to drink water?

Water plays an important role in our lives, accounting for between 60-70% of our total body mass.

A healthy adult on the average will lose more than 2.5 liters of water from the body each day, meaning we need to drink six to eight glasses of water per day to stay healthy. There are a number of things to consider in order to get the maximum benefit from this most basic of drinks.

. Drink warm water. Cold water affects the functioning of our intestines and digestive system while the body can absorb warm water more easily and aid digestion.

. Drink on an empty stomach. This is the best way to consume water as it can be absorbed directly.

. Drink regularly. It does not help much if you just take a sip of water now and then when you feel thirsty.

when is the best time to drink?

. In the morning. Before doing anything else, drinking one to two glasses of water just after you wake up can help stimulate peristalsis, lower blood concentration and boost blood circulation.

. Before a meal. Drink a glass of water 30 minutes before meal can help preparing the digestive system to better absorb nutrients.

. After a meal. It is NOT advisable to drink lots of water during or within half an hour after a meal because it can affect digestion.

. In the afternoon. About 2:00 -3:00 o'clock in the afternoon, drink 2 cups of water to refresh the body and the mind

. One hour before sleep. The body consumes water while we are asleep, making us feel thirsty and dehydrated in the morning. Drink some water an hour before you sleep can help replenish any water loss during the night.

Water is so important to our bodies that we have to pay attention not just to the quantity of water we drink but also the quality. Drinking enough clean and fresh water not only improves your overall health and well-being, it may also prevent you from many ailments and sicknesses.

Allah's plans

Assalamualaikum

" You might be married to the worst man on earth, like Asiah who married Firaun (Pharoah), but it didn't change her (aqidah). You might be married to the best man on earth, like Nabi Lut's wife, yet that doesn't mean you're going to Jannah with him. You might not be married at all, like our beloved Maryam yet Allah SWT places your status above all other women on earth. Have faith in Allah always and place your full trust in Him. He's the central focal point of our lives "

 - Heba El-Haddad-

Often we doubt, and question why this and why that, why can’t I be born rich or why can’t I be normal like the others? – we forgot to consider Allah in this and curse life for treating us the way we feel we’re treated. I’m sure if you learn to let go and have the courage to have faith in Him, you’ll realize the world is so much a better place to live in. Think about it, I’m sure you’ve faced your hard times. The challenges and sacrifice you had to go through, the obstacles that tests the every nerve in your body – at the end of the day, everything turned out fine, didn’t it?

Although they plan, Allah also plans. And Allah is the Best of Planners.
[Holy Qur'an 8:30]

I'll be spending my life with my one and only dear husband. Then I have kids, too. and I will living happily as a successful woman.
